GD Rewind is the gdrewind.live website, the GD Rewind Geode mod, the GD Rewind API and the GD Rewind Discord bot. It's run by megeli and cawzmik, who are "we" in this policy. This page explains what we collect, why, who else sees it and how to get it deleted.
Short version: we keep what's needed to show your Geometry Dash runs, and your runs are public on purpose. We don't sell your data, and we never see your passwords or card details.
You log in to the mod with Twitch or YouTube. From Twitch we get your user ID, username and profile picture. From YouTube we get your channel ID, @handle and channel picture. We use that to know which runs are yours and to show your name and picture on your page.
The access token Twitch or Google gives us is used once to read those details and is then cancelled right away. We don't keep it. The Twitch login doesn't ask for any extra permissions. In its place the mod gets its own GD Rewind login, which lasts 90 days. We only store a scrambled (hashed) copy of it.
While you play, the mod saves your attempts and uploads them. That includes the level's name and ID, where each attempt started and ended, attempt counts, your best runs, when you played, how long you played and links to the moment in your Twitch or YouTube VOD. This is the whole point of GD Rewind, so your runs are shown publicly on gdrewind.live and in our Discord.
To keep leaderboards fair, the mod checks on your PC for things like a speedhack, replay bots or autoclickers, and cheats switched on in mod menus like Mega Hack, Eclipse, QOLMod or Prism Menu. Only the results leave your PC: whether a run is marked "unverified", and for a copy of a level, which level it was copied from and how many of its objects differ from the real one. We don't upload a list of your mods or anything else about your computer. We also compare level copies against the real level from the Geometry Dash servers, and we check run speed against your normal pace.
If you use the hand-picked friends build, it makes a random ID for your PC and sends it with uploads, so a name can only be used from up to 3 PCs. The ID is random and isn't tied to your hardware.
GD Rewind may offer an optional paid membership. Its payments are handled by Polar, which sells the membership for us. You give your payment details and email to Polar, not to us. We get back whether your membership is active, until when and a subscription ID, tied to your Twitch or YouTube account. Polar's own privacy policy covers what it does with your details.
If you link Discord, we store your Discord user ID so the bot can give you the supporter role and send the DMs you signed up for, like best run alerts and the weekly recap. If you set up run alerts in our Discord, we store your Discord user ID and what you want alerts for.
We count visitors without keeping IP addresses. When you visit, the API turns your IP address into a scrambled ID that changes every day, plus a second scrambled ID that lets us count all time visitors, and saves those with your country. The IP address itself is never saved. We also use it for a few minutes to stop login spam. Our host, Cloudflare, may keep its own short logs of requests.
The site uses your browser's storage for things like light or dark mode and login. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, unless the law makes us.
GD Rewind uses YouTube API Services. When you log in with YouTube, we ask Google for read-only access (youtube.readonly) and use it once, only to read your channel's ID, @handle and picture. We don't read your videos, subscriptions, comments or anything else, and we don't keep the access. By logging in with YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's use of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. GD Rewind's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove GD Rewind's access at any time in your Google account's security settings.
You can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete your data, or to stop using it. Email us and we'll do it within 30 days. Deleting your data removes your runs and page from GD Rewind.
If you're in the EU, the UK or somewhere with similar laws, you have these rights by law. We use your data to give you the service you asked for, for our legitimate interest in keeping GD Rewind fair and working, and with your consent for extras like linking Discord. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
You need to be at least 13 to use GD Rewind, the same as Twitch and YouTube. If you think a child under 13 has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For big changes, we'll also post in our Discord.
